The rest of the film is pretty campy and entertaining after that, retained my attention til the end. I enjoyed the premise of a bunch of ragtag "soldiers" falling victim to them one by one as well as the SFX throughout and I have to say the opening of the film with the unfortunate pregnant lady is what had me hooked, one of the most brutal scenes ever, not just for what it shown directly when at the end of labor, but you know she had been held there restrained to that bed forced to reproduce for the mutant/s for god knows how long, and just killed after her usefulness had expired, pretty much tried to set the tone, but didn't live up to that scene. It is by no means a masterpiece and had a plethora of stupid moments by characters but could have been a snooze fest, but there were so many "fun" and engaging elements to it that kept me wanting to watch it till the end. I knew going in there was no way you could beat the 2006 remake but I decided to give the sequel remake a run and I was somewhat surprised at how much I liked it.
